Heartgard Plus
Heartgard Plus is a chewable, monthly beef flavored drug is well known for treating heartworms. Heartgard is also effective in treating hookworms and roundworms. Its active ingredient ivermectin is an effective anti-parasitic medication used for treating heartworms. The other ingredient Pyrantel Pamoate is an anthelminthic and is used for controlling hookworms and roundworms.
Veterinarian’s prescription is a must before you buy or give this to your dog of six weeks of age. Dogs allergic to beef should be given Heartgard Tabs. It should strictly be chewed and not swallowed by the pet as a whole. It can be crumbled or mixed with the food.
