Atopica also known as (
Cyclosporine) is a oral soft capsule is well known for treating dermatitis (skin allergies). This medicine affects the immune system of the pets. Its ingredients are an immunomodulator, Cyclosporine A. It consists of 11 amino acids and is a cyclic polypeptide. The anti-pruritic and anti-inflammatory properties of Cyclosporine makes it quite effective. It acts on T-lymphocytes and slow-down the antigen triggered discharge of lymphokines. It even acts on eosinophil, keratinocyte cytokine and degranulation of mastocytes which results in release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and histamine. It can be given to pets of 6 months of age and they must weigh 4 pounds. This medicine should strictly be taken on veterinarian prescription.
